In his quest to bringing back many day-to-day activities, Spanish Prime Minister, Pedro Sanchez, said that the Spanish Premier League – La Liga – could resume behind closed doors from June 8th.
Players from the league have started with training in groups of not more than ten. According to Sanchez, Spanish Football, which has one of the biggest followings, will not be the only recreational activity to return. Since football in Spain was suspended due to the pandemic in March 12th, the players of the top two divisions were only able to get back to training in early May after being tested for the virus.
La Liga’s teams have 11 games to play this season with Barcelona two points ahead of Real Madrid at the top of the division.
