According to a Saudi-led military coalition fighting the Houthi rebels, the southern separatist forces and the Yemen government have agreed on a cease fire and will begin talks on implementing an earlier peace agreement.
Tensions between the two former allies in the nation’s war have escalated since April when the UAE-backed STC announced self-rule in areas under its control in Yemen.
The coalition’s al-Malki mentioned that there may be a new development. There seems to be signs that Saudi Arabia is tiring of the war in Yemen.
The war has thus far killed more than 100, 000 people and displaced millions pushing the country into famine and destroying its infrastructure.
